So during the past year or so, my family and I have been getting into watching the bonus materials of our DVD collection. This is probably due in part to the fact that we don’t have regular cable/fios anymore. That said, by doing so, I have fallen in love with the process of these visual masterpieces and not just the finish project. The development of characters, the inspirations, trials and the joys of completing something…it’s beautiful art.
After procuring the Beauty and The Beast dvd a few days ago, I went through the dvd’s special features and found this above jewel of a clip from the Character Artist of the Beast, Glen Keane. Though he lists various artwork that inspired him, I loved how he connected the animation of Beast’s transformation to his own spiritual transformation experience through Christ, Jesus. Quoting 2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
A parable of his own life, as he puts it…
I love how he gives testimony of what a relationship with Christ can be through his art work, in a scene that is pivotal to the movie and has been watched by many…
It’s inspiring and I can only hope and pray that God, Jesus Christ, would be so present in my heart that He could be seen in everything that I do… whether it be in my art, future work places, conversations,…EVERYTHING.

Take over my heart, Lord. So that everything I do, in this new life You have given me, will testify of Your Glory. - Amen

My Parent’s Anniversary!
Yesterday was my parent’s anniversary or ,as my sister likes to put it, their 24th birthday.
“Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
Genesis 2:24
When I think about my parent’s wedding, it wasn’t full of trim, flowers and a crowd of their closest relatives and friends. No, it took place in the philipines, at a court house. The pictures that they took of the reception they had when they arrived back in the U.S. are gone and ruined.
This is not a bad thing…
Even though they didn’t have, what most people call, a beautiful wedding they definitely have a beautiful marriage. For this, I’ am thankful for.
Thank You God for the example you have made of my parents, that this is what I pray for… a God Centered Marriage.
In conclusion, as my father says,
”it is only our 24th… there are still many years ahead of us.”
(Get me outta my mind)
Feelin’ like I got a front row seat to watch everybody be happy Can’t even paint a smile on my face, it’s so hard to not complain Gotta try not to say O God, what about me ‘Cause I know that’s not the way that I’m supposed to be
Get me outta my mind and into Your heart It’s not about me, it’s not about me So I’m gonna start playin’ my part in Your design Now is the time Get me outta my mind Outta my mind
There’s a bigger picture on display and it’s starting to come in focus Causing me to see the ones in need outside my little world Gotta try, just to say O God, what can I do Doesn’t matter what it takes, I wanna lead them all to You
Get me outta my mind and into Your heart It’s not about me, it’s not about me So I’m gonna start playin’ my part in Your design Now is the time Get me outta my mind Outta my mind
If anybody asks me what have I been up to This is what I’m gonna say I’ve been spending my time, outta my mind And I’m really lovin’ livin’ this way
If anybody asks me what have I been up to This is what I’m gonna say I’ve been spending my time, outta my mind And I’m really lovin’ livin’ this way
Get me outta my mind and into Your heart It’s not about me, it’s not about me So I’m gonna start playin’ my part in Your design Now is the time Get me outta my mind Get me outta my mind So I’m gonna start playin’ my part in Your design Now is the time Get me outta my mind Outta my mind
“i’am His and He is mine…”
“THE FULLNESS OF GOD”
In C. S. Lewis’ “Screwtape Letters,” he writes letters through the perspective of a demon named Screwtape. In one of these letters, he mentions how God is filled and overflowing and wants to overflow all that He is into His Children, those who follow after Him, not only for His glory but for the believers gain as well, while the demons are empty and want to consume us for their own good.A. W. Tozer, in his 366 day devotion book, quotes Ephesians 3:19“…to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God.”
THE FULLNESS OF GOD!!!
Tozer also quotes Dr. A. B. Simpson, “Being filled with the fullness of God is like a bottle in the ocean. You take the cork out of the bottle and sink it in the ocean, and you have the bottle completely full of ocean. The bottle is in the ocean, and ocean is in the bottle…”
When a Christian begins the journey toward Christ, it starts with the reflection of self.Confessing our own filth, that we need His forgiveness so that we can be redeemed and become His child. This idea or focus on ourselves cannot stay throughout the whole walk with God.As the verse says, “I’ am yours and you are mine…” God already shows His concern and that His focus is on us (sending the Christ). Now we need to take our eyes off ourselves, He is already watching over you, and focus on God.Trusting and seeking to be continually filled with His Fullness. Now as a Christian, REMEMBER that we are free from sin and the guilt that will bind us into becoming stagnant (inactive).
Staying SANCTIFIED.
Do not be Screwed and Taped (Screwtape) up by the fear in guilt.God has already won the victory over your soul and He, when we delight ourselves in Him, will lift us up.
i’am His and He is mine…
The Honey is for Whose Glory?
“Hast thou found honey? eat so much as is sufficient for thee, lest thou be filled there with and vomit it” -Proverbs 25:16
As you read through the bibile you will see that honey is like “the knowledge of wisdom be unto the soul (Prov. 24:13-14).” As advised in the first verse above, we are only to eat the amount of honey that is sufficient for where we are at with the Lord, in our life. For instance, there is a lable on a bottle of honey warning not to give any to a baby under 1 year of age. Honey, though sweet, is very potent. That said, honey being the knowledge of wisdom, no matter how much you eat, we can only consume so much. The small amount that we retain, will nourish and feed our soul and become apart of our being. While the rest, that we cannot retain, will be barfed out as empty theology. Though the teaching may be true, it did not fulfill its purpose of refining or nourishing the person who initially consumed it. This then leads to the question of why is someone trying to consume so much in the first place. For those movie junkies like myself, as quoted form George Lucas’ Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade, “ask yourself, why do you seek the Cup of Christ? Is it for His glory, or for yours?”
I know i am guilty of this. Believing that by learning so much theology I can give myself the answers necessary, relying on my own strength. Or learning theology so that it would seem impressive to others. The bible also states that “it is not good to eat much honey: so for men to search their own glory is not glory (Prov. 25:27).” Now I’m not trying to say, stop reading or having devotions but to check where your heart is because God will alway know our true intentions. God wants us to come into understanding but we arent always ready to understand it.
” I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsover he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify Me: for he shall recieve of min and shall shew it unto you.” -John 16:12-14
We always need to get right with the Lord. That washing of our feet.
God, may my heart be aligned with Your Spirit. Reveal to me the things in my life not pleasing to you that i may ask for forgiveness. That my soul would be ready to recieve what You have in store for Your perfect will. -amen
“Finding salvation requires more concentrated effort than most people are willing to put forth. Obviously, we cannot save ourselves-there is no way we can work ourselves into God’s favor. The effort we must put out “to enter the narrow door” is earnestly desiring to know Jesus and diligently…
